The East Coast Boardwalk is approximately 2.2 kilometers long, divided into east and west sections, each about 1.1 kilometers long. Near North Point Ferry Pier, Locobike also offers Harbour Go bike-sharing services, allowing visitors to rent bicycles and enjoy cycling on the East Coast Boardwalk. In short, everyone can find a space to enjoy themselves here. There are also dedicated pedestrian walkways close to the waterfront, with varying elevations to bring those admiring the harbour closer to the sea view.

Experiential Glass Observatory Deck Appreciating Victoria Harbour from an Alternative Perspective

The entire East Coast Boardwalk comprises eight themed zones, with four located in the eastern section, including the Pet Wave, Sky Wave, Art Wave and Wave Hub.The "Art Wave" is a multi-functional open space that can be used to host exhibitions, art events, and community activities. Several local artists have also added vibrancy to the space, displaying murals on the bridge piers depicting the Eastern District mascot, "Dong Dong," visiting popular attractions in the area.

"The Sky Wave " features a free, experiential glass observatory deck , a first for Hong Kong's waterfront promenade. Before entering the viewing platform, visitors must wear shoe covers provided by the venue. Although the glass walkway is not long, visitors can see the flowing waters of Victoria Harbour as they walk, making it a brand-new Victoria Harbour experience. However, please note that the glass viewing platform will be temporarily closed in case of adverse weather and rainy days.

When entering the experiential glass observation deck, you must first put on the shoe covers provided by the venue. Although the glass walkway at the observation deck isn't very long, it offers a unique experience where you can see the flowing waters of Victoria Harbour as you walk along it. Due to the reflective and transparent nature of the glass floor, female tourists are advised to avoid wearing skirts. Visitors are requested to return the shoe covers at the exit of the trail. Near Man Hong Street, there is a pioneering movable bascule bridge which allow vessels to access the coastal waters bounded by the Boardwalk when necessary. Along some of the pedestrian walkways near the waterfront, there are cup holders to make it convenient for visitors to place their drinks and enjoy the Victoria Harbour view. The first movable swing bridge in Hong Kong has been set up opposite the Provident Centre. It is open from 6am to 11pm. If there are boats that need to cross the nearby coast, it will be closed to allow the boats to pass.

A playground for anglers and children

Moving to the western section, there are four themed areas: Fish Wave, Sun Wave, Play Wave and Gather Wave. Among them, "Fish Wave" is a waterfront fishing platform space designed for fishing enthusiasts. Located near the North Point Ferry Pier, it has no railings, allowing anglers and tourists to get closer to the shore. It also features tiered seating and metal racks for placing fishing rods, allowing anglers to enjoy fishing more leisurely without having to stand for long periods.
